I had a pulmonary embolism in June, and Dvts, also a clot in my arm. They believe it was due from birth control. They put me on a blood thinner and I started having bleeding issues vaginally. I wont stop bleeding unless they take me off the Blood thinners. But I have to be on them. They want to try the pogesterone only nexplanon. To help control my bleeding. They are afraid to do surgery right now because my hemaglobin keeps dropping. I have already had 4 blood transfusions. So they said this is low risk and okay to do. They want to try this before they have to go with any type of surgery option. I need information on this. Ive read not to use it if you've had blood clots. Then i read its low risk and okay. My doctors say its okay, please help.
Biggy is how old are you and do you smoke. That is when birth control is a problem. Its just like an injection not major surgery. You'd probably bruise more but not much else. Do you see a hematologist? The one problem thing is that some ladies bleed from the implant. Has anyone mentioned a filter for you so you don't need to worry about throwing clots to your lungs and heart?
Hi! I hope you are doing better. Please let me know if your doctor did put you on nexplanon. I have had ridiculous clotting with nexplanon in the two months I have been on it and I just had it removed this week. I am still bleeding but I do not have as many vaginal blood clots which were painful and eventually led me to need a transfusion. It definitely doesn't sound like it would have been a good idea for you to have nexplanon but I would love to hear if you are on it and if it is working for you.
