I’m an 18 year old girl, and I recently got a new pack of Birth Control Pills(Aubra). I have the 7 day sugar pills that I have to take for my period, which is what I did. I had no bleeding, except for very minimal spotting throughout the week, until the final day of the placebos when it turned out to be very heavy. Now it’s been five days since, and the bleeding still won’t stop! Why!!! I started the next pack just like I was supposed to, so I don’t know what the problem is. How long will it take for the bleeding to stop??
I would expect it to last the same amount of time as your regular period. What you are experiencing is not uncommon in the first few months of taking oral contraceptives and is not a cause for concern. If it does not settle down, which is unlikely, see your doctor.
Good luck. :-)
