lost a total of about 8-10 pounds depending on the day. I feel like the loss of that weight has been more my doing than the meds because i have to consciously control my meal portions and choices with little to no help from Contrave.Do i really keep paying for this expensive medication to see little to no results.Does anyone know why were told to give it three months? Ive never heard of a medication potentially taking that long to be effective. Anyone have any more insight that can help me understand so that I can make an informed decision before I discontinue taking it?
The literature explains that you may not feel the effect of Contrave until you are at the full does for 12 weeks. if you use the medication the way they suggest, that would mean 16 weeks of use. Only you can decide if you want to continue. The medication should not cost you any more than $70 per bottle. There is a card from the company that reduces the cost to that. My personal suggestion is to give it at least 2 months. Hope this helps!
Actually I use the discount card & it still costs $90. I'm discouraged as well because I am on week 3 & only lost 5 pounds. But I don't feel it is the medication helping at all. I'm making the conscious decision to cut out sugar
When I took Qsymia, I lost about twice the weight by this time & I was at a lower starting weight
