What are the side effects for using pills continously? Will I still be able to get pregnant in 3 years?
There are no adverse effects from using the pill long term as long as you are healthy. When you stop using the pill, fertility should return in time. It may take a few months to begin cycling normally and ovulating again but it will return to your pre-pill state usually within 6 months. Many women use them for 10, 15, 20 years or more and still get pregnant once they stop. No worries! If you smoke, however, you can no longer use the Pill and continue smoking after age 35 because the risk for strokes and blood clots becomes too high, but only in women who smoke and are 35 or older!
