I've been on birth control for 4 years now. I made the first mistake with my packet. Last month I decided to skip my sugar pills and miss my period for vacation purposes. I am supposed to be on my sugar pills starting today but I completely forgot about them and took the first pill of a new packet. What should I do? I want to get my period because I missed last month and I never miss periods. But, I don't want to screw up next month's birth control because I already took the first pill of that packet by accident. Should I continue taking the new packet even though I didn't have a period last month? Or should I not take any pills and wait for my period and then continue on the 2nd pill next week when appropriate? HELP! I've been on ortho-cyclen for years except for I switched to the generic brand of it (Sprintec) and just recently (last 3 months) I've been using a brand from planned parenthood that I'm not too familiar with.
