My boyfriend and I had sex and it was at the end of my period cycle. I know you can still be ovulating a week after your period is done. He used a condom but it broke and he came inside me. I was and still am on birth control, and I took the plan B pill about 3-4 hours after sex. Is there any way I can get pregnant?
Most (but not all) women ovulate around 2 weeks after the first day of their period. The 1st day of your period is day 1 of your menstrual cycle.
However, in the days leading up to the ovulation, a woman's cervical mucus changes in consistency, so it can save any sperm that enters her vagina, ready for when she ovulates.
Plan B works by delaying your ovulation until the sperm leaves your body.
It sounds like you took it early enough to do that.
If you were closer to your ovulation, you'd be better using one of the other 2 forms of emergency contraception.
Learning how to know when you are ovulating is really useful. Knowing what signs to record each day, etc.
