I've read alot of things on birth control. I'm currently on microgestin fe 1/20 and im nearly done with my second month (3 days from the inactive pills) and all the first month we used back up protection, but this month we havent. I've taken the pills 100% correctly, never missed one. They are safe enough to be used alone, right? because some people say here and there that they arent, and that "even head ache meds can lessen the effectivness" but i've heard that it's only antibiotics. Either way, it's safe enough, if taken correctly, right?
If you take the pill 100% correctly it is 99.7 % effective. The only time you need a condom is if you're on antibiotics, except for STD protection. There are a few other meds that might effect it but if you ever are put on any medicine you can come here and ask. Not aspirin or tylenol. The amount of misinformation out there is unbelievable.
