... end of december 2014 and i didn't go. I haven't had period since and today is the March 7th 2015 and i have cramps and a little bleeding nothing heavy like more of a spotting. I had unprotected sex the day before with no symptoms what are the chances i could be pregnant?
Hi there Castillot
Firstly, if you mean you had unprotected sex the day before your Depo shot was due, then don't worry, you will not be pregnant.
When you stop using Depo, your periods can be irregular for quite a long time before your body goes back to normal. It can take up to 18 months for your fertility to return, & your periods to settle into a regular cycle. You may experience irregular/erratic bleeding, & sometimes it can be constant and/or heavy.
That is what happened to me, & it got so heavy & constant that I ended up having to have several medical procedures, which only worked for a short time. I ended up going back onto Depo, just to stop the bleeding!
Everyone is different, & you may find things settle quickly without problems.
The next time I came off Depo I had the same trouble, & after about 4 months a freind recommended a herbal remedy called Agnus Castus. The brand I use is A. Vogel. It's a tincture (liquid form) that you put into a little water & drink twice daily. It doesn't taste very nice, but it had me back into a regular pattern within a month or two, & I was able to drop it down to once per day. You should be able to stop it all together once your periods are back in cycle.
You can't take Agnus Castus if you're taking any hormonal form of contraception, as it will interfere. Hormonal birth control works by causing an imbalance of your hormones, whereas Agnus Castus works by re-balancing them.
