Hello, I am on Generess FE which is a 24/4 tablet and I usually pick up my monthly prescription at a pharmacy by my college. I forgot to pick it up before I came home for Christmas break so I had to call my doctor and have her call in a one month supply here where I live, but by the time the pharmacy here had it in stock it has now been 3 days since Sunday which is when I was supposed to start my newest month. I now have the pills, but should I start it now even though I've been off the placebo pills ever since Saturday (its now Wednesday). Will they still be effective? My period started Thursday and ended yesterday. I usually start the new month the day after I'm done my placebo pills whether or not my period's done so that I can start on a Sunday, but I didn't have the pills yet so I couldn't
I wouldn't recommend that you start it now. It would be best to go without taking your pills this month (use some other form of contraception) and start taking it when you get your period next month.
When you start taking the pill you'll have to use extra precaution for at least 7 days (some doctors recommend a month), just like you did when you initially started taking your pill.
