Hi All, my thinking can be, ok is often, very ruminative/obsessive and excessive. My doctor prescribed Risperadone as adjunct to Zoloft and considering Seroquel. Has anyone else with OCD or Bipolar and obsessive thinking been helped by an antipsychotic like these drugs and at what dose? Thank you in advance!!!

Hi live proud,
I have Bipolar Disorder and I have OCD. I suffer with Obsessive, repetitive thoughts and my psychiatrist prescribed me Lithium. He said it worked very well for these kind of thoughts, and it has. I take 300 mgs. at bedtime, just one small pill, without food, and it has helped me focus immensely. I tried Zoloft years and years ago and it gave me headaches and I was on Seroquel up until two years ago when I went on the Lithium.
I hope you find your balance. Good Luck. Karen
