... crack. what symptoms should I be looking for? to tell if hes smoking crack and also to tell how its effecting his other meds
Ask that same question, exactly as you did here, completely. Leave nothing out. I'm confident enough in our medical care and Mental care facilities that their team will have the answers. But remember, ask Your or your partners Dr. Due to confidentiality issues, his Dr may not talk with you but I assure you there are people who will listen and guide you through the steps.Good Luck and may God Bless You.
Rachel, your partner is self medicating on top of being treated by doctors, which is extremely dangerous. All of the medications you listed are pretty serious medications, nothing to be played with, and tossing crack on top of those can make way for a very dangerous mood swing at any given time. The issue with crack is that there is no single dosage that is the same each time, so while your partner may be fine right now, and may have been fine up until now, sooner or later, the medications are going to react to the crack, and if you are lucky, your partner will simply get sick and flip out, but if you aren't lucky, he or she could end up dead or killing someone else.
I strongly suggest you get help for your partner as fast as you can, be it through family, freinds, or whatever means you have to use. Your partner needs to get into his or her doctor and perhaps rehab, so that the meds can do what they are supposed to do. Sitting back quietly is doing no favors to anybody Rachel, and sometimes, tough love is best.
I grew up w a very close family member who used crack for most of my 31time years. Idk if he doesn't want to get clean he wont! It took years of not being a part of my family members life ( till I had my first child ) before he got clean. I am Bipolar and cannot even imagine how messed up he vets and how u deal w that. Make it simple because for yourself and your OWN MENTAL HEALTH he needs to quit drugs or be outta your life! That's how my loved one finally quit. Any time u need to talkim im here for u! Best of luck! TERICA
