It should help because it is specifically themanic-depressive phase of bipolar disorder. You should be aware that it may take 1-3 weeks before you start to notice any real changes, so don't give up on it too soon. Also, since lithium is a salt you need to make sure you drink plenty of fluids and try to take it with meals to avoid nausea/vomiting. Oh yes, make sure to keep your appointments with the doctor so that he/she can monitor your lithium levels. Hope this helps and I hope you find the peace of mind you are looking for.
