My question is about alcohol. He has gotten a good hand on his drinking for the most part. He is not on meds. It seems like when he gets intoxicated (of course he shouldn't) the effects seem to last for an additional day or two. By this, I mean, he sounds and seems like he is drunk the next day and even into the following day, even though he is not drinking more. Is this common?
Hi, alcohol can/will affect people differently if they have mental health conditions. I have BPD and if i have a drink i can get really strange and sometimes dangerous thoughts. I am lucky to not suffer hangovers, but many people will be effected by the alcohol for longer periods to those who drink and have good mental health. So yes, it is common. Obviously i would advise your husband not to drink, but i also understand the temptation
