... Seroquel and was wondering if anyone could give me an idea as to how long it will take until I start to feel some relief from the unbearable sadness? How long until I really start to feel better, have more motivation, and energy? I'm hoping somebody can give me an idea. Thank you
Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. I take Seroquel (for BPD) and it has stabilised me really well. It did take some time (2 or 3 months) to get passed the side effects of severe tiredness, but it doesn't mean it will be the same for you. You realistically need to allow at least a month before you are feeling much better. I take a antidepressant alongside the Seroquel which works great for me. Give the Seroquel some time, if you are still not feeling good maybe your doctor would consider this? Although it's hard, try to get out every day, get some fresh air and a bit of exercise, it will increase your Serotonin levels. Are you sleeping OK? I'm here if you want to talk.
I hope you begin feeling better soon. The answer to your question is that everyone is different and these types of medications react and work differently with each individual, but you can usually expect changes in 3 to 4 weeks usually. It will take that long for the drug to actually get into your system. One note on this medication pay attention to what Pledge told you, it can make you sleepy and sedated so unless your doctor has you taking it at night be cautious. I wish you the best.

I know this conversation is 2 years old but I was looking for advice on bipolar disorders and landed on this page, I hope someone will see my message.
Melbell2105 I am going through what you went through when you posted your message. I am married too and my husband do not understand what he did wrong for me to end up so depressed, anxious, and sad. I love him so much, I hate myself for making him feel that way. I wish I could understand what's wrong with me. I've never hated myself as much as I do now. Me too, my everyday goal is to make it until my bed at night hoping that I won't wake up in the morning.
I thought I would be able to overcome tho depression on my own but at this point I know I need help, I am so scared of just losing my mind.
Melbell2105, how are you feeling now, 2 years later? Have the medicines helped you?
Thank you so much to whoever sees and answers my message.
