I have fibromyalgia and menopausal symptoms. I'm on too many meds and wonder if BHRT really works. I would love to feel better and drop all the pain meds and musce relaxers, migraine meds, meopause supplements, etc. There are so many side effect and I never sleep right. I haven't had sex in over 2 years. I have no sex drive since the hysterectomy. My life is just full of pain and my marriage is falling apart. I need to know if anyone has had sucess with this procedure please. My nurse suggested it but my husband think it is a gimmick.
I've heard from others that it wasn't so good, but maybe you'll get some good reports. But i think that you should seriously consider HRT. The estrogen helps with the very thin vaginal wall which has lost elasticity and is likely to bleed with sex. Also the estrogen does help with sex drive. But you should give the estrogen at least several months to grow back the lining before having sex. And you will need to self-use a "stimulator" or dildo to stimulate the vagina after a couple months on the estrogen.
I doubt however that the HRT is going to solve all your problems with fibromyalgia and migraines. It may make the migraines worse or better. You don't mention anything about daily preventative migraine medication or FDA approved medicine to specifically treat your fibromyalgia. That you should try instead of just taking pain meds.
