Pain in lower jaw is gone, but still feel "something". Is this normal? Bothers enough to take a Tylenol or Motrin. Taking 200 mg twice a day. Not a pain, just discomfort. Worse in the am when I get up.
Sometimes tegretol only dulls the pain not completely eradicates it. It's trial and error sometimes as to which anticonvulsant works. Sometimes you may need a combination. Tylenol is generally accepted as not effective for trigeminal neuralgia. Over the years i have tried about 7 drugs and I'm now trialing combinations. Sometimes people also find that a drug will work for a while then fail. Hope this helps.
