Hi, I was recently prescribed buspirone for anxiety. The dosage is 1 10mg tablet three times a day. My husband works nights so our waking hours are 1pm - 4am. When would be the best times for me to take my medication? Should I take one when I wake up, one in the middle of the day, and one at night?
CoyoteGirl; Yes you could try it the way you have it that is pretty close but like my friend already said some people get wound up at bedtime if they take it too close so you may back that one off a few hours earlier. And I just want you to know many people I know that take this encluding myself. We don't know why but if you feel a bit more anxiety than you did try taking a little less for some reason some get wound up from this medication and from what a lot of post and doctors have told them to take 1/2 tablet. And for the record, you can talk to your doctor about this if it bothers you. But the most Important thing is to never take more than what the doctor says. But depending on the medication like this one it's okay to cut it down. But unless you're told don't do this because some medications you have to hold a blood level but start taking as the doctor said but like I said if that evening dose is just too much try 1/2 a tablet. Feel free to check with you doctor first. just that this has been the answer for so many people but it has really helped many of us and you do want to take it somewhat regularly so you get the benefit of the blood level being pretty steady. Good luck and feel free to alway type another post and let us know how you are doing. Chuck1957
