I'm very sorry to hear about your loved one's diagnosis. Since we are not medical professionals, the only thing we could give you is an opinion or a guess. That would not be in the patient's best interest. As a cancer survivor myself, I will recommend, however, that you get second and possibly third opinions before any treatments are started. If you are near, or can travel to a cancer center, such as Cancer Centers of America, Moffet Cancer Center in Tampa, or Mayo Clinic, I highly recommend that you go to one of them to get an opinion. I went to Moffett for my Multiple Myeloma, but received all chemo and radiation treatments from my oncologist at home. There are many different types of breast cancer, so there is not one treatment to be used for all breast cancer. It is usually very easy to get an appointment at one of the centers (within 2-3 weeks). Her oncologist should refer her to wherever you want to go. If he does not want to do that, it is a sure sign that you should find another doctor. I will pray that she will respond well to all treatments given and for strength for both you and her.
My very best wishes are sent to you!
