What is the best pain reliver for a bad tooth ache do to needing a root canal?

Not sure based on how this is worded, but the DDS is the one with the answer.
Things like motrin and aleve will take down the inflammation. I know what they feel like, been there. You will need to see a dentist
also orajel works good for toothaches. it numbs the area.
Oil of clove, sold under the brand name Redcross is a lifesaver for Toothaches.
