I've had fibromyalgia for 7 years and it's now got to a point were nothing helping no more I struggle day in day out I'm exhausted just doing house work
Welcome to the club that is fibro sufferers. No medication helps it much. I take gabapentin for the pain, it takes the edge off, and effexor. I spent my life pushing myself through work, missing out on social things because I was too tired, or just plan hurting. I would love to know what a "normal" life is like. I take tramadol for pain, however it just takes the edge off too.
It seems as if there is no one medication that works for all of us. It's all trial and error, you have to keep trying or you'll lose hope.
See your doctor and ask if you can discuss every single medication there is for your pain. Try everything suggested, just keep fighting if you can, I know it's so difficult. We all try to support each other here on this site, so welcome to you.
IF you could list any medications you've taken or what has not worked, we may be able to list some medications that you may ask your doctor about.
I wish you all the best,
I have had Fibromyalgia for over 25 years so I have tried most meds. Savella didn't work for me, too many side effects. I now take 60 mg cymbalta. It doesn't completely take the pain away but it takes the edge off. I also take hydrocodone as needed. I am considering medical marijuana too. I have heard really good things about fibromyalgia and medical marijuana. I hope this helps.Carol
