This constant mental checking is really bothering me and causing more anxiety and depression. This is my first time trying meds Zoloft is it just going to take time?
Hello Mare40. I'm afraid you'll have to be patient. Anxiety is a normal, common side effect to taking the drug. Tthis will ease up as more time is spent taking it. Zoloft can take up to a month and even longer when it comes to treating OCD. As to the best drug to treat OCD, it varies from one person to another. SSRIs such as Escitalopram non generic Lexapro and Fluoxetine non generic Prozac are used to treat OCD. There are others, from different drug families but it really does depend on the severity of the OCD and the manner in which a person will react to the drug. Best of wishes, pledge
I can completely understand what you are going through, I to just started Zoloft 3 1/2 weeks ago. I think I had every side effect possible but I can assure you it's gets better in two weeks tops . Hang in there..:) try not to think about it. I also found that exercising everyday was a big help to me . I would also sleep better at night
