Been taking any where from 50 mg to 100 mg of Amitriptyline for 31 years to help me sleep as I have Fibromyalgia. But, as of 1/1/15 my insurance company is taking it up to a higher tier and my cost is going up significantly. What are my other options? I also have sleep apnea.
You might want to look into your insurance benefits. Amitriptyline 100 mg is on the $4 list at walmart and target. You should not be paying more then that. Its not an expensive medication. My part d moved it to tier 2, and this year it wasn't much, so next year their tier 2 is going to be a 35 co pay, they are out of their minds. I will be changing insurance..
I also have fibro and sleep apnea and I have been in almost every med in the past 20 something yrs for sleep and now take 600 gabapentin and two prescription benadry along with my risperidone which seems to help. If I still can't sleep I take two walmart brand of Advil pm. And I just bought aromatherapy pillow spray from Bath & Body Works that actually does help me fall asleep. Good luck!
