... etc??? I have a herniated disc and disc bulge all in my lower extremities I already have an empi but it just make's my pain worse.
Hello again, MrsPage. A friend of mine recommended swimming pool exercises. It takes the weight off your spine and builds muscle at the same time. Before my accident, I was in PT. It would help me, lying flat on your back, arms down at your sides, slowly slide each foot (one at a time) up and slowly back down so you're bending your knees. Also, laying on your side with a pillow between your bent knees (feels great) and lift the leg (knee) slowly up and down. Then switch sides and repeat. You can try kneeling on a pillow right next to your bed, lay your body stretched over the bed so your totally resting your whole upper body on the bed, slowly extend each leg outwards and back. That one also helps relieve the spine and pressure on the discs. One more, lay flat on your back with your knees together and bent up towards your butt..keep your feet together while you slowly let your legs fall (apart) to the sides and bring them back together.
You can stay in this position and also cross your arms over your chest, slowly bend your knees together to the left, bring them back to the center, then to the right. It will help (by gently twisting) loosen the spine it that area.
I need a PICTORIAL! lol! It's so easy to "see" it done, but so hard to put in to words.
