After having great results with benzoyl peroxide I began to develop extreme dryness, even with a moisturizer. My derm prescribed me ziana as it would be less irritating. It's been about three weeks and my skin feels great! But, it doesn't look great. My acne has flared up again while on ziana, while it is mild and mostly whiteheads, there is a lot of it. I was wondering if it would be ok to use a very small amount of bp in the morning to help clear this initial breakout. I know that retinoids typically take a long time to work, but is there anyway to control the breakout? Thanks!
This is really a question to ask your dermatologist. Sometimes, when dryness is a problem, using the products less often is good. If you were using the BP every day and having over dryness then perhaps every other day would be better. Applying the two together in one day will likely lead to over drying again. Ask your Dr if alternating the two may work better.
