my mother has had Lupus for a while now. She's always wanted to try Benlysta but didn't want to "be selfish" and use the money. this year me and my brothers talked about gathering some money to pay for it, and while reading the comments I read information about a grant to help pay for it. This would be extremely helpful as we are already fled with student loans and such and we just want to do something for our mom. Do you have any information on how to apply for a grant? Or anything that will help save money?
I contacted benlysta @ their 800# and a social worker at UMC cancer center here in AZ. I didn't qualify but sounds like your mother might. Good luck. I have been getting benlysta for 4 yrs and have less headaches and more energy. I am 62 and gained weight which I must lose but so far it's a slow process. i won't get an infusion if i am at all sick and do need a driver afterwards. that day i rest and let it do it's job.
