I started Belviq on June 13th and have been taking only 1 dose each morning. I've noticed a huge change my appetite and cravings. It's a great feeling not to be thinking about food all the time. I'm logging calories and exercise so that helps me as far as keeping things in check. I've lost weight because my clothes are now loose almost 30 days later which makes me so excited. The side effects have been minimal, only headaches and dry mouth, so I'm ready to increase my dosage to the prescribed 2 times a day. I'm curious as to what time everyone takes it. I'm nervous about taking it in the evening because I don't want my sleep to suffer. Recommendations and any experiences you can share, good or bad would be most appreciated.
I sleep really well at night. No problems there. I take one in the morning about 2 hours after I get up and wait about 8 to 10 hours between. Like you, I have had success. Only thing I'm bad about is writing my calories down. The dry mouth I do not have a problem with because I consume so much water. If you get up at 7, take your pill then, and depending on what time you fix dinner, preferably before 7 PM, ( 4 or 5 to take the pill) it will not affect your sleep habits no matter the time you take it. The only thing I suffer so far is being COLD!! I had a hysterectomy a year and half ago and had horrible hot flashes. Now, it's nice to not have hot flashes because I can warm myself up by bundling up.
Another experience of mine, is I have forgotten to eat at times and I've never had that problem before. I was constantly thinking about food. This medicine really does help me. So far, any bad experiences I have had... Headaches. I hate the headaches. They come and go and hit at random times. That's the gist of it.
By the way, I'm 44 years old and in the prime of my life. I was desperate to lose the weight I had gained due to being on methylprednisone for serious back problems. I had to beg my doctor to consider Belviq and he refused to listen. So, I changed doctors who was a bit more open minded. The relief I felt when I got the support I needed brought me to tears. I do try to exercise by swimming but because the water is so cold, it makes me dread it. (Or the meds have made me cold intolerant). I have lost a total of 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I like being able to see my neck and not see triples anymore.
Hang in there!! Research Belviq in depth and see if the info helps you to understand it a bit better.
Good luck!! Don't be afraid to try it in the evenings. I've done well.
