Just started using catheters and looking for someplace to get them regularly
I have problems with urinary retention that have been attributed to vascular irritation around my spinal nerves. For a short duration (a couple of months), I did have to cath, but if I can catch it early enough now, I can avoid it getting to the point of becoming any more than a day or two. I have used Muscle Relaxers and Steroids in the past, but with the newest meds I'm on, I hope it won't surface again!
It seems your issue may be of longer duration than mine, and I'm not sure if I can help very much, but in order to get the highest-quality and most comfortable catheters, I asked my urologist's office's nurses. They had several good observations and issues I wouldn't have thought to consider. Then I just ordered them through a pharmacy. If cost is more of an issue, you may want to find a medical equipment supplier/ pharmacy that is compatible with your insurance and ask them for a recommendation and even some samples.
I may be four months too late, but I just found this board and hope it helps or that you've already found a better answer!
