I am down to .25mg or less per day for about two weeks. A little sliver of the sub sheets. I just seem to feel bad each morning when I want to stop taking it so I keep taking a little piece each day. I am going to completely stop soon but why is it so hard to stop? If I stop, how long will I feel bad? Will I still slip into withdrawls? When is the Sub completely out of my system? Thank you
You may have some minor discomfort so you could go to taking it everyother day for a couple of weeks. When you stop you may have some very mild withdrawals for a week, but honestly since you are on such a low dose it shouldn't be too bad. The Suboxone stays in the system 3 to 5 days after your last dose.
Dear badgervetter, welcome to the site. If you can, start skipping a day between doses of .25, you may only be able to go 30 to 36 hours at first, but keep trying. I got down that low, skipped a day and walked for exercise at least 5 days a week to help stabilize, and then jumped after about 3 and 1/2 weeks at the .25 every other day skip and i personally was fine. I did a slow taper down. You might need a low dose of antidepressant and to try and not freak out, fear is your biggest hurdle at this point. You might find taking the teensiest dot at night to help, it helps get you to sleep quicker, even if it is just mental. I had a night or 2 during that last week where i had some insomnia, and maybe 2 days of mild tummy twinges when i jumped, NO nausea and No diarrhea, just some tummy twinges and then i was fine. I had to force myself to keep up the walking, but i swear it makes a difference. Stay supported and busy. Patti
I, too, have wondered how I will get off the sub, when the times comes, in the easiest way possible. I have talked with Patti, too, and her way sounds great, and it makes sense, too. I just started in September and am a far way off from stopping. If I had to take even 1mg. a day for the rest of my life, the way I feel now, I would. I can't say what I would feel like a few months or a year or more from now. I want to make this Suboxone Therapy work. I am determined to be a winning case.
I am on day #2 of my drop from 20mg to 18mg a day and thus far, feel OK. It might take another couple of days if I am going to feel any discomforts. I hope not.
As I was saying last week was awful~
Today feels like a whole new day-well, it is, I know. I mean, I just feel more like I wanted to feel. With the slight energy boost and feeling more positive-that was my day today!
Hi Badge. Keep trudging forward. Please listen to what patti tells you to do. I am weaning also and am following her taper plan to a tee... it works. The physical exercise and keeping busy is the key. Keep positive, stay focused. You WILL succeed my friend.
All by best. Stay here with us and we will get you through... pup
