I am so tired of trying drug after drug to treat my depression, with what seems no relief for it. I continue to have problems with worring about things, feeling that there is no answers for how I feel, and continuing to feel hopeless.
How long do you stay on each med? Do you give them enough time to fully take effect? I know I am having a rough time thinking about having to wait for weeks to see improvement in my anxiety and overall well being but that's the course of meds I am on (paxil and Trazodone)... don't give up. The right combination is out there for you. Perhaps a different doctor to get a different perspective would help? Keep the faith. Lisa
Hello janyse. I agree with Lisa. Just like to add this, you mentioned that you've been on many drugs with no relief. Not sure what you're currently taking but often one drug is not enough, so perhaps a combination of a pair or trio of drugs might be needed. Or just an adjustment for the med you're currently taking. Either way, I do really hope you find some relief.best wishs,
Hi janyse! Nice to meet you! :)
I'm so sorry that you're experiencing these hopeless & helpless feelings. Just as there are many different types of depression, there's also a myriad of pills from which to choose for relief. This is where the patient-doctor relationship comes into play. Your doctor should know which medications would be the best choice to prescribe for you. In order for him/her to determine the best treatment for you, janyse, you must tell your doctor what you're telling us. You, along with your doctor, are a team & must work together in order to achieve the best healthcare results for you.
Just as some of the other posters have already stated, a combination of drugs might be more beneficial in your case. Most pills can have their dosages increased in order to be more efficacious.
You've been trying drug after drug & so far haven't found the right "recipe" for yourself. janyse, this is not the time to give up! My first husband had clinical depression & tried 5 or 6 different prescriptions before finding the optimal fit for him.
I hope that you'll be receptive & keep an open mind. You might not want to hear this but it may take more time until you find the best match for you. However, I believe you're worth a bit of extra time & I sincerely hope that you'll agree with me. Please don't quit just yet! There are many people here who will support you in your journey, janyse. Take our hands. We'll help you along the way.
from Wendy :)
