Have been on valium for at least 25 years, it stopped working, tried clonazepam, took for 6 weeeks, didn'nt help with anxiety, is my next option xanax? Please help!
This question has also been asked and answered here: Valium vs Xanax: What's the difference?
I completely understand your position, I have been on benzos for at least 24 years, and one becomes tolerant to them, I believe Xanax can help you, it is a short acting benzo, unlike Valium, Ativan, Klonopin , etc.
Give it a try, I suppose they are being prescribed to you. I am at a point where I am prescribed Klonopin and Xanax as needed.
All the best,
I hope you are discussing this with a psychiatrist. There are so many meds that can help you. Yes, it takes a good 6 weeks to determine if they are going to work. I know because I tried different ones for 3 years and finally hit on a combination of Effexor and Lamictal. Counselor also helped. She refers to Xanax as the devil drug. I used them only for emergencies and haven't taken one for 3 months, feel much better off of them.
