I have a hiatus hernia and Barrett's oesophagus I am on 1 Omeprazole daily but should I be avoiding any foods that may aggravate the condition?
Avoid acidic foods, caffeine-(chocolate, coffee, tea etc) and alcohol. The acidic foods irritate the stomach and esphogeal lining, caffeine and alcohol relax the sphincter muscles which allows the food to regurgitate.
