Why is bactrim not indicated for infants under 2 months of age? What are the adverse effects if any?

My guess would be, like most drugs, that they are not tested in infants that young. The best medication for a newborn is the one ordered by his pediatrician, they have experience with it. If there was a situation where it was the only medication that would help, the doctor would have to weigh the risks with the benefits.
