... was for sweats. I've been reading many sites but never once saw it as an anti-sweat med. Has anyone ever heard of this?
Baclofen is a muscle relaxer and anti-spasmotic agent. Probably given to you for restless legs while detoxing, and help you sleep better. In the same class as Ambien. It sounds like they gave it for temporary use, as using long periods can cause you withdrawal symptoms as well. Call them and have them re-explain your meds. It was given to decrease your discomfort in detox so use it accordingly. They probably gave you a small amount of tablets.
Actually one of the side effects of Baclofen IS sweating, so this is a bit confusing? I agree with 'determined', it is primarily prescribed for treating muscle cramps, so this is most likely the reason you were given it, to treat stomach cramps which occur commonly when detoxing from alcohol
