My back hurting soo bad I cant stand it. Does anyone know why this could be happening? I have had multiple mri's done from my neck all the way to my to my lower back. All they can find is a slightly bulging disk in L4 or L5 I think they said but nothing to be concerned about is what they said. I take percocet and tizanatine for pain. But this pain in my back when I wake up with everything numb from my waist down is unbearable and nothing helps. The doctor gives me NO answers at all! Please help.
I have the same thing happen to me but not all of the time I take 360 mg oxicotin and 120 mg of morphine. I am fused from S1-L3 with my last 2 L disks
I need surgery to fix the problem the firdt surgery that I had done this year was to take out my DCS any my pain pump it took 5 hours to get out my DCS out so the Dr. could not get to my main problem in the lower back.
I am a person who was fused with a drug called BMP-2 that was used in the levels that the FDA did not approve. Since these surgery's the bone growth at these levels has grown unto my spinal cord which has me in a wheelchair now.
Your problem is like mine in my case it is the way I fall asleep, if I sleep om my back I wake up the same way that you do numb from the waist down but I have half of my body numb from the waist down now.
I would try to change the position you fall asleep in, that might help.
I get this too. What I do is try to shift positions as the night wears on, if I stay in one position I wake up in agony that no prescription drug can do anything about. Your report of numbness concerns me though, especially if you're numb on both sides, maybe if it's just one side it's a pinched nerve?
I also tried going to sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees, this helps too, but again the main thing is to avoid being in the same position all nigh, even if you have to set an alarm. Also, look into how old your mattress is, that also has a huge impact on this. Hope this helps.
Hi, i had a back injury a few years ago, 2(?) prolapsed discs lower back. My doctor prescribed Amitriptyline. This medication is primarily an anti-depressant - very old drug, but it is also very good for dealing with this sort of pain and inducing sleep. You take it before bed and it makes for a much better night of sleep, well it did for my anyway... Would you consider this treatment? Just an idea.
Hey there girl. I don't really have a good answer for you, I just wanted you to know I was thinking about you, and will say a little prayer for you. I hope you get better soon. I'm sorry this is happening. I don't experience what you are, but as you know I have several issues with my back. It's no walk in the park is it? Take care hon. May this pass soon and you will get to feeling better soon. God Bless. Ruthie
Sounds like Sciatica to me! Google the term.. that bad back is probably got some lower nerves acting out. Mine is bad while driving, runs into my hips.. shoots weird pain down my right leg and weird numb tingling in my feet. I have random episodes of it. Wake up with both arms numb from laying flat.. I would recommend seeing a neurology specialist, they can test you and probably give you something to help relax it.
