im 28! ive had back pain for seems like forever. ive had x-rays and an MRI. nothing showed up. i dont get it!! anybody else with this problem? i havent been in any accidents... i played basketball all through school. im active now, normal weight, no major surgeries, tried the chiropractor (what a joke btw), tried doing core exercises, idk what else i can try! any ideas would be great! thanks.
you might have a pinch nerve somewhere, sometimes they dont show on mri, maybe a cat scan might find something, and everyone has some degenerative disk disease that could be whats hurting sometimes its the smallest thing that hurts the worst good luck.. have you tried a pm doctor, if not your primary doc will have to refer you to one. i use one and she is great
hi, back pain is one of those things u cant take a picture, mri, or chiro away. u hafta find a doctor who will work with you on solving ur problem. if this has been a life long problem and your doctor cant find a reason for ur pain, maybe its time to get a new doctor. finding one can be as big of a pain as your pain itself. try a pain management dr.(btw chiropractic works for some people and not for others) if a certain doctor doesn't work for u fire him and get a new one.
There is a test I doubt you have had. I worked for a Chiropractor and he told me about a Stand up MRI.Go to this web page and I am sure you will be shocked by what this catches that convential MRI's do not catch.It makes too much sense. You do not live laying down, do you?? So why do a MRI when you are laying down. You need to do a weight bearing MRI.

When resting/sleeping place good sized pillow under your knees and lie on your back... this removes the pressure on the lower spine... or lie on side, knees bent with pillow between knees/legs...
A good stretch to do is to lie on the floor onyour back... reach with your arms above your head and point your toes forward... stretch like this for several seconds, relax and repeat a few times.
If you sit a lot at the job, try to stand or move around every 30 minutes... a pinched nerve can cause a lot of pain... and it won't show up on xrays. Perhaps a cat scan will show something but an MRI should have I think.
Do you remember twisting suddenly recently , you might have pulled a muscle which will settle down with time... where exactly is the pain? upper back? lower back? to one side of spine? If it is muscular try buying an over the counter rub (with no terrible smell) called Myoflex... that can be rubbed into the area and helps with pain.
