Hello. I also take cymbalta (60mg at bedtime) for neck and head pain from compressed cervical disks. It has worked very well for me in alleviating a great deal of my pain and offering me comfort. It works on certain chemicals in your brain (serotonin and norepinepherine) which help to supress pain. It does cause me some stomach upset but that is manageable with a tums and not as bad as the pain I used to suffer. Additionally, be aware it can take several weeks to feel the full relief of cymbalta, but if it is covered by your mother's insurance she should consider trying it, in my opinion. Hope all are well!
