... l5 s1, still had pain after surgery.. Someday good some bad, but tonight my back and right leg hurt so bad, throbbing stabbing pain in my leg, i took my pain meds (percocet) and have absolutely no relief..anyone have any suggestion..please im scared
This sounds like it may be nerve pain, is that possible?
If it is a possibility you may need to talk to your doctor, nerve pain isn't controlled very well with opioids. It is helped with Neurontin (gabapentin is the generic) or Lyrica, a sister drug to Neurontin.
If it's not nerve pain, perhaps you need your dose of Percocet to be adjusted or you need a stronger narcotic? Either way, you really need to talk to a pain management doc if you've not done so already.
Also, you may need a battery of tests done, a nerve conduction test or an EMG, MRI or X-rays to determine if something is askew in your back. You really do need to call your doctor about this new pain you are suffering with.
I feel for you, you are not alone in your pain,
