... am an addict so i started suboxone and it not really helping for pain.any advice would be appreciated
As you may know opiates won't work while you're taking suboxone and after 10 years you won't get a lot of relief anyway due to tolerance.
So you have to start at basics. Are you exercising?? If you have any sort of a gut then that adds tons of pain (no pun intended). I was 123lbs 8years ago when I started methadone. I had such a high tolerance that I had to go up to 400mgs daily for the first 4 1/2 years. I went up to 200 lbs and I'm 5' 8". My back pain increased. I am down to 170 and my methadone is at 110mgs a day and I'm managing fine.
Get as active as possible. Start by going for a walk in the morning and again after supper. Stay away from junk food as much as you can and drink lots of fluids. If you are depressed then these things I have listed above will help greatly but don't be afrad to tell your doctor if you are depressed. There is so much you can do to help this as you know opiates just aren't strong enough or have the staying power to hold us that have chronic pain..Good luck... Dave
