i have disc protrusion. but i am allergic to the ibuprofen. my back and right leg hurt seriously now. so is there any other choice about the drug?
There are lots of other options. You should schedule an appt with your Dr to discuss them. In the meantime you can try other OTC pain relievers like acetaminophen/paracetamol,if you can take that, and try alternating ice packs and heat for pain. There are OTC rubs and patches that can help some too. Massage may also help some as can physical therapy. Try to keep busy to keep your mind off the pain. Usually walking and normal activity is good to do-try not to do bed rest for more than a few days at most. If you have progressive numbness/weakness or trouble holding your bladder or bowels you need to be seen right away as that can signal a medical emergency.
