Last week I was admitted into the hospital to try the Gilenya again, I had a really bad reaction to the drug again but this time it took 4 hrs to affect me. So no more Gilenya ever, it made my migraine even worse and I have been struggling to cope ever since. So today my MS doctor admitted me into the hospital for DHE treatment for 6 doses to see if this helps, I am really hoping it does the trick as the migraine is out of control. So if anyone wants to help me pass the time, that would be great. Liz.
Back in the hospital?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you all know I was aloud home from the hospital and that my Migraine is much better. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers, I am so happy that is all over. I do want to ask another question to you all, the doctors have come up with a new drug for me to try and was wondering if any of you have heard of this drug being given to patients with Migraines. The drug is called Namenda, it is a drug used for Alzheimer patient's. But my neurologist said that they have tried this medication on a few of there patient's who have proven to be hard to treat for there migraines, the drug is considered an "off-label" use because it has only been approved for Alzheimer's. Has anyone tried this or even heard of this being used for Migraines, Love to hear your views on this. Thanks Liz.
So sorry to hear about your bad experience. How do you help someone pass the time with bad migraines? Maybe trying to send you visions of lillies, violets and roses along with a dream of a lovely vacation in Hawaii, with some angels singing to your better health? It probably isn't helping much. Just know that you are loved and I am praying for you as well.
I'm so sorry you are in such pain!!
Girl, you've just got to get some magazines and you can check out Ryan Gosling, Ryan Reynolds, and all sorts of famous Ryans!! That may help pass the time. I doubt you can bare to look at a magazine right now, when you've got migraines going on though. Just trying to get a giggle out of you.
If I were there, in hospital with you I could regale you with silliness, yet I am stuck here in the midwest.
You are in my prayers and I hope this procedure helps, I pray it helps you feel better.
Thinking of you,
I feel for you because I also have bad migraines and I cannot take migraine meds because of the meds I am on. It sucks eh? I just had my thyroid removed because of cancer and being hypthyroid right now makes me bloated. I feel like I have Pms or pregnant or something. I have a migraine since last night. Sleeping didn't help it at all last night. Hoping you and I have a better day tomorrow. Your in my prayers!
Poor Liz! I wouldnt wish a migraine on my worst enemy!! There is not much worse than a migraine and if someone has never had one, they have no idea! I have had some nasty ones in my lifetime too! Thankfully I dont get them very often anymore. I used to get one 1-3 times a month when I was on the Pill. Once I had my tubes tied I got a lot better. I also find that getting spinal manipulations frequently helps me. So does applying heat to my neck. I get a lot of muscle spasms with mine. I think I dread and hate the pain so much that when I feel one coming on I tense up like mad! I know a lot of people say ice but ice makes mine worse. I know that once I got one NOTHING helps. I've had mega doses of Demerol and Vistaril, morphine and compazine, Zofran, Imitrex, Nubain and none of it helped much-I just had to ride it out. My sons are both so sweet.
they have grown up seeing me have these headaches and when they know I'm getting one they make me Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea (which seems to help me for some reason) and they warm a hot pack in the microwave. Just the sweetness of it makes me feel better! My sister in law once said she had never realized someone could get so sick with a headache. Now, I only get 1 or 2 a year thank God! I truly hope that you find relief soon!
