Please help us . Thank You
Babies do this, and its not something you're giving her. Her stool is irritating her. Do you use something for diaper rash? It sounds like she needs to have something like desitin put on her when you change her diaper. If its yeast, there are creams that will help that too. Go to the baby section of the pharmacy and see what they have or ask your pharmacist.
Kaismama, you are just a genius! I must agree, try Desitin on the diaper rash, it was the only thing that worked for my daughter. I found diaper rash on her once, and I used Desitin on her bum from then, no more diaper rash!
It really worked like a dream.
Your little one should see a doctor about the yeast thing, because it needs to be treated by a professional. You can try to treat it yourself but your pediatrician is the best source. A ped doc can find out if it actually is yeast or something else all togheter. I'm certain that you don't want to self-diagnose your baby and be wrong. You sound like a great mum, so get your baby to that doc, asap, to get her treated. She may be in pain, and if she is teething, it may be a double whammy.
Best to you, julia,
She may have thrush. Thrush can cause mouth pain and you may see white patches on the tongue and it often populates the whole digestive tract from the mouth through to the anus and they get a red, raw rash with spotty edges on their little bums. Dont use baby wipes. they are very harsh and they burn like fire when you use them on raw areas like this. Mix up a spray bottle of water and put a 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda in it to neutralize the acidic urine and stool. Shake it each time before you use it. Spray what you need to clean her and use soft paper towels like Viva or use cloth. Once she is healed you can go back to baby wipes if you want, just be very gentle with them. If she does have thrush, which is a fungal infection (they can actually pick this up as they come through the birth canal) she will need Nystatin to clear it up. This will help clear the rash on her bum too.
If she is teething, instead of using oralgel (it doesnt help much anyway) keep a few clean spoons in the fridge and when she is teething, give her a cold spoon to chew on. The cold spoon will help reduce the inflammation in her little gums and they like to chew on something hard-it feels good. Another treatment to try after the rash is clear to prevent fungal growth is Caldescene powder. Use the Desitin or Vitamin A&D ointment until her skin is healed then use Caldescene powder to prevent any further yeast overgrowth. My kids were very prone to fungal infections and Caldescene worked like a charm! Just a little sprinkle with each diaper change helps to keep their skin clear.
