I'm 31 & this anxiety & the meds that are supposed to help feel like they're killing me... I've tried all types & dosages of meds for most of my life, nothings worked... any time I have a panic attack people tell me to "breathe", but honestly that's the problem I can't... is there any hope?
What meds are you on... I used to have panic attacks and not only was breathing difficult but I had heart palpitations. I have been on Effexor XR 75mg and Ativan .5mg for about 4 months now and they have helped although I feel I may need to see about upping my Effexor doseage. I am new here but there seem to be lots of good folks on here who are quite knowledgeable. Stick around. I joined because there is nobody other than my doctor that I feel I can speak to about my depression and anxiety and unless you are experiencing what we are... trying to make someone else understand is useless in my experience.Hang in there!!!
My experience is that there is always hope and I just have to keeping seeking. Maybe it's a change of Meds or a new doctor or joining a support group. I would check with the county or psychiatric groups. Maybe I would need to add more exercise or better exercise
Maybe I would need to go to counselor and not just psychiatrist or general physician
Maybe I would need to look up and try relaxation techniques
I think people have to find the recipe that works for them
