... In 2013 to 4times that in 2014. When I questioned the accounting personel, they gave an explanation, that the hospital had to buy it in quantities of 4. Which by my accounting that would mean I am being charged for 4 times t he recommended dosage. Has anyone else had this problem?
What is the average cost for 4 mg (1 vial) of Zometa. My hospital went from an average cost of $700?
Added 21 Aug 2014:
After further talking with my Dr. And the billing imput person in his office, I was shown where they got there information. The FDA has a Directory published 2times yearly and in this directory it lists Zometa with increments of for mg. Either the hospital staff is reading the number wrong or the Directory has an error. Since the drug is sold as 1vial of 4 mg. I believe the Directory has an error. It should indicate 1vial not 4 mg. I have obtained information on the internet fron the FDA page, which says that if an error is discover by the user, they give an address to contact them regarding errors. I will write my response to the FDA and ask my Dr's office to send it to the FDA, as they are the user. I will try to keep you I formed to my progress. HLM091933
