Hello, what is available out there for someone who takes trazodone for sleep, but is suffering from anxiety during the day? I know trazodone is not a very good and I exciting medication, it's purpose is mainly for sleep. Is there anything out there available, thank you
There is the benzodiazepines but I would not recommend them. You can be dependent on them and heard that getting off of them is no fun. There is Buspar, it either works for you or it doesn't. It is not addictive and an alternative to the benzos. There are also some antidepressants that target anxiety. But all of this is something you should talk to your doctor about.
Hope you find what works for you. :)
my2kin04; The list is endless this you would have to talk to the doctor and see what she would like to try and most all are okay with Trazodone when you find out what the doctor wants to use let me know and we well double check with all the others. Chuck1957 So call your doctor first on this one please.
My2kin04; Ativan is fine of all the benzo's this one is one with the shortest half life which means it's easier to get off of I would not even worry about that they just don't hand these out I had a harder time getting off the Buspar myself due to the side effects but when you just take the Ativan as needed it rare to have a problem with them most people have to have kind of an addictive personality to have problems with them. And the media has done people like us no favors the way they talk about them it scares the crap out of a lot of people that should be on them. Give it a try but make sure you don't take any more than what the doctor says until you talk to the doctor. Have a great weekend. hope this helps you be able to sleep a bit better too. Chuck1957
