My 8 year old son has ADHD and was originally prescribed Focalin 10 mg twice per day at age 6 and he was switched to Quilivant liquid 10 mg last month but his teacher said that he was more impulsive and less focused therefore, his doctor switched to Vyvanse 30 mg. Is this change normal and is the dosage appropriate? The ticks are worse than the behavior!
Why haven't you tried plain old Ritalin tabs... my son went thru the same when he was 6 yes old more add then the hyperactive one. He only got hyper if he didn't understand something. He got one in the morning before school and one after dinner for homework ... don't remember dose. Then he was put on the extended release. It's a tough road but this too will pass. He is now 27 with a new baby and wife. Stopped all medication in high school. He is a successful adult. He has a great job. This kids are the movers and the shakers of the world. Once he got outta high school. He spread his wings and there was nothing stopping him getting to his goals. Not only did he have add but was dyslexic
And writing issues. The physical task of writing. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Kind regards I get it.
