Other types of antibotics that ARE NOT in the Penicillin group are Sulfonamides, for example, Bactrim; Septrin and Sulfadiazine just to name a few. People who are allergic to penicillin drugs are usually put on Sulfa (Sulfonamides) drugs to treat different types of bacterial infections. Also,very important to get tested for an allergy to penicillin and always tell your doctor,dentist etc.,especially if needing any type of surgery!
