how long should I wait after stopping atenolol before its safe for me to be out in the sun for long periods of time? or to use a tanning bed. And yes I know the dangers of tanning. but I can not find an answer to this on any sites I have looked at. thx.
You are right with regards to Atenolol/chlorthalidone, but not to just Atenolol on its own as Stephen has pointed out.
Atenolol/chlorthalidone may cause you to become sunburned more easily. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to atenolol/chlorthalidone. Use a sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.
