Does it stop rapid heartbeat happening or does it just control? the onset of SVT?
The beta blockers like atenolol will stop the rapid heartbeat.
It controls it while you are taking it but it can return if you stop taking the medicine.
I take 25 mg of atenolol every night before bed. It helps control the palpitations but for me does not eliminate them. In fact I feel them quite regularly. I was honestly more hopeful that they would be eliminated.
