Ferritin is an iron-protein complex, containing up to 23% iron, formed by the union of ferric ions with apoferritin; it is found in the intestinal mucosa, spleen, bone marrow, reticulocytes, and liver, and regulates iron storage and transport from the intestinal lumen to plasma. Atenolol (Tenormin) is in a group of drugs called beta-blockers. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Atenolol is used to treat angina (chest pain) and hypertension (high blood pressure). It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack.. I could not find a corralation between the two. I am not a doctor, so you should check with yours. I have been on atenoll for years for fast, irregular heatbeat, & it has not caused me to gain weight either, but dose list water weight (swollen ankels ) as a side effect.
