I take atenolo and chlorthalidone separately. Why wouldn't the combo pill be prescribed?

The dosage in the combo pill is exactly the same as the individual pills
Are you just starting on them? Its easier to adjust a dose of one if they aren't together. Other then that I don't know, have you asked your dr? Frequently a combo med costs way more then the 2 meds alone, but I don't think its the case with this one.
